Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford: "I would love to have my mother's body"

BarcelonaCindy Crawford's daughter, Kaia Gerber, has revealed she has suffered from eating disorders due to constant comparisons with her mother. In an interview with Vogue, Gerber spoke about the insecurities she suffered from a very young age. “I wish I had my mother’s body. People have always commented on my physique, and that’s difficult because you’re not always mentally prepared to comment on your own body,” she said. “As someone who has been thin most of her life, I’ve always been compared to my mother. I’m very envious of my mother’s body. I wish I had been born with breasts and a butt,” she added. The actress and model assures that “these comments won’t make you look better” and says “negativity has never saved anyone”.

“It’s an honor that they say I resemble her [Crawford]. I wish, but I don't think so, not even in my best days,” says Gerber. Cindy Crawford has been married for decades to businessman Rande Gerber, father of her two children: Presley Gerber, now 27, and Kaia Gerber, 24. At another point in the interview, Kaia confesses the difficulties she has suffered due to her brother Presley's addiction problems. “I felt like my brother needed help, and that's why I never asked for any myself,” she adds. Presley Gerber posted a video on his social media in December encouraging people to seek help if they suffer from addiction problems. The actress celebrates her brother's decision. “My family has always kept everything a secret. Now I realize that trying to cover up something like this only makes the person feel ashamed of them,” explains Gerber.

The model has been the protagonist this week alongside actor Homer Gere, son of Richard Gere, for the premiere of the Disney+ series The Shards, set in the 80s and based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis, author of American Psycho. Thirty-four years later, the series' actors have recreated the cover that Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere did for Vogue in November 1992. Crawford and Gere were one of Hollywood's most popular couples in the nineties. The couple lasted until 1995, when the divorce became official. Now, on the occasion of the series premiere, Richard Gere celebrates his son's success. “I warned Homer that with this surname people will judge you simply for being a Gere,” declares the actor. After his relationship with Crawford, Gere married actress Carey Lowell in 2002 and they had three children; Homer Gere is the eldest.
