Heidi Klum dresses up as a shocking amputated hand

Every time All Saints' Day arrives, Klum manages to capture media attention thanks to her penchant for dressing up in surprising and bold options. This year she has done it again with a costume of her own hand. It is an immense limb, nearly two meters tall – Klum is 1.77m and was wearing heels – which reproduces the model's left hand, amputated at the wrist, bloodied and full of viscera. In this way, she appeared at her traditional Halloween party (dubbed Heidiween), which took place this Saturday at the Cathédrale restaurant at the Moxy East Village Hotel in New York.

The costume stands out above all for the realism it has achieved. The hand reproduces with precision the veins, tendons, skin wrinkles, Klum's intensely red-painted nails, and even the cuticles. It also wore the wedding ring, the engagement ring, and the tattoo with the name of Klum's husband, Tom Kaulitz. The 53-year-old model remained practically hidden behind the costume, and only her eyes could be seen through one of the cuts in the limb, which was dripping fake blood. The legs corresponded to the middle finger and the ring finger, while the right arm was behind the thumb, which also had movement.

Aware of the expectation that her Halloween costumes generate, the days before the celebration the model had been posting clues on Instagram. The model arrived at the party inside a truck that imitated an ambulance. She got out accompanied by a group of assistants dressed in yellow and wearing masks, who injected fake blood into the costume to reinforce the realistic effect of an amputated hand. In statements to journalists collected by different American media outlets, Klum explained that the most complicated part was moving with the costume to the party venue, and that she started getting into character and dressing up on Saturday morning.

In 2024 Klum also left an impactful image by dressing up as a jellyfish and appearing at the party accompanied by her husband, dressed as a warrior. In previous years, the model has dressed up as the alien E.T., a turkey, the goddess Shiva, herself as an old woman, a worm, and a vampire. Year after year she has been raising the bar.
