Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez get married in an intimate ceremony in Portugal

The couple married this Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal, in an intimate ceremony attended only by their five children. On August 11 last year, Georgina Rodríguez shared photos of the engagement rings on her social media with a message:

Last week, rumors circulated about the possible location and date of the wedding. Some media outlets suggested it would be at the beginning of August in Sintra, Portugal, after Ronaldo's sister, Katia Aveiro, traveled to Madeira to visit her mother. The anticipation was so high that this Saturday, more than 2,000 people gathered in front of the cathedral of Funchal, in Madeira, Ronaldo's hometown, where some rumors claimed Ronaldo and Rodríguez would get married.

The couple met in 2016 when Georgina Rodríguez was working in a store for the luxury brand Gucci in Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo was the biggest star of Real Madrid. As she explained last year to Vogue, Rodríguez had a feeling of "as if they had known each other their whole lives." The first photographs of the couple were published by the magazine ¡Hola! in November 2016, when Ronaldo and Rodríguez were enjoying their vacation in Disneyland Paris. Before meeting Rodríguez, the footballer had three children through surrogate gestation, a practice illegal in Spain. The couple had their first daughter, Alana, in 2017. Years later, Ronaldo and Rodríguez announced in April 2022 that they had lost one of the twins they were expecting, but Bella, the footballer's and model's second biological daughter, had survived.
