Gabriel Rufián, the republican candidate, already sees it as "very likely" that there will be no unitary agreement of the left and asks for "apologies to the voters", we read on Friday in ARA. But, my goodness, that "the left" should come to an agreement, on anything at all, does not cross the mind of any voter of "the left". The voter of "the left", unlike the voter of the right (who is not, conversely, a voter of "the rights", but of "the right"), finds great pleasure in considering all other leftists "less left" than himself. The one on the right, on the other hand, finds great pleasure in considering themselves "not as" right-wing as the others. Those on the right and those on the left carry a burden inside, deep inside, which they only confess when they drink (kombucha for some, coffee with brandy for others): it must be nice, restful, to be on the other side. Those of "the left" secretly have fantasies about order and those of "the right" secretly have fantasies about disorder. One day there is one, man or woman, of the left who behaves like a priest or a nun and one day there is one, man or woman, of the right who behaves like a revolutionary.

Rufián talks about voters (he works, he says, for the voters) and talks about offices. The word office applied to politics is like the word armchair, a cliché. It is often said that those in offices do not grasp the pulse of the street, another cliché. That remains to be seen. Sometimes it is necessary to have people on the street and people in offices. Someone to execute and someone to write first. Those in offices are very poorly regarded, like those in armchairs (but, sometimes, to read, to do civilized things, like listening to recitals, watching theater, armchairs are needed), and those on the street, very well regarded, whoever they may be. Among those on the left there are large property owners and among those on the right what we call workers. Those on the left are condescending to those on the right (this is their main mistake), those on the right are mocking towards those on the left (this is their main virtue). The ones cannot live without the others, the others cannot live without the ones. This is their main virtue. The big difference is that there are some, only some, who if they could would imprison the others.
