Now we will talk about the problems

"Talking about the problems." This is the solution that the parties are trying, including those of the social democratic left, which has tasted the honey of government for decades and resists being swept away by the authoritarian wind that is freezing the entire northern hemisphere.

No more embellishing problems with euphemisms challenges or to belittle them because the right wing had supposedly taken them over. It wasn't even necessary for the polls to tell them; they heard it from within, right there in their own homes, especially among the younger voters, who, by definition, have no patience or scruples when it comes to settling scores: what incentive do I have to vote for you, if you've always been in power and are therefore responsible for this present with little future?

The problem with these problems is that they have reached magnitudes that demand far more than a shrewd electoral strategist. Algorithms steal our attention and our capacity for critical thinking, and bombard us with popcorn, in a global context of war and economic violence. And this is not all: the cultural shift is not only technological or about the concentration of wealth, but, as Rob Riemen observes in his highly noteworthy book, The word that triumphs over death (Arcadia), spiritual and moral values have been replaced "by a politics of fears and desires."

Talk about immigration, security, and housing, and stop talking about precariousness and call him povertyIt's necessary, but not sufficient. Because solutions won't come from a single party, especially when parties can't even pass budgets that use our money. Among the problems we need to address is how political management can restore respect among people. If we want to talk about problems without discussing values, we already have machines.
