Don't bore me
I remember a song by Carlo Padial, or maybe it was by one of his friends, a thousand years ago, about a theft at Fnac. The lyrics, interpreted as tortured rap, said: “You told me Nice price, you told me Nice price and I'm still paying for it”. It came to mind today, thinking about the Moves plan. That 5,000 euro subsidy you were given (you are given, it seems) if you buy an electric or hybrid car. I took the bait.
At the dealership, everything was as easy as getting your wedding ring off with soapy hands. “If you buy the car, you get a 5,000 euro discount. You'll get it in a year, but we'll advance it to you. The car will cost you 5,000 euros less, and when you receive it, you'll pay us back”. Someone else would have said no. In fact, I know a lot of people who have said: “I'll pay for the car, you don't advance me anything, and when I get paid it will be wonderful”. The year passed, and from the gentlemen who activate Moves, there was no "moo-vement". On the contrary, I had to go to a special agent, who charged me a hundred euros to do the very complicated paperwork and who, now, when I call him to find out how everything is going, he doesn't answer. By then I already had to return the five thousand to the dealership, so the dealership gave me a re-credit. Those five thousand that I might receive one day, I've already paid back, but with interest.
The other day they asked me for something. I had to prove, once again, the purchase of the car. The one who sold it to me doesn't work there either. Since it's been years since all this, I myself doubt and have impostor syndrome. I think I'm not worthy of the 5,000 from Moves. All this is because today a girl called me asking if I wanted to make my home sustainable and that there were subsidies for that purpose. I told her I was a climate change denier and that I adored oil, not only in old Rieslings, but also and especially in exhaust pipes.
