Volkswagen ID.Every1, the "people's electric car," will cost 20,000 euros.
Although it is still a prototype, this model anticipates the lines of the urban electric car that the brand will present in 2027.

In 2019, the Volkswagen ID.3 was born, an electric model that the German brand presented as one of the most important vehicles in its history. In fact, it named it that because it represented the beginning of a third chapter in the history of the Wolfsburg manufacturer after the sale of the Beetle and the Golf. But sales figures have not matched the German brand's commitment, with neither its ID.3 nor the rest of the ID. range reaching the expected sales figures.
There are many reasons for this, but one of the main ones is the price, which is very high for most electric cars. That's why Volkswagen has presented what should now be its true "people's car" in electric format. It's called the Volkswagen ID.Every1, and although it's still a prototype, it previews the design and concept that will be released in 2027 at a price of around 20,000 euros.
A very small, but quite practical urban car
Not long ago Volkswagen presented theID. 2all, a prototype electric utility car Which, with the price of a Polo and the interior space of a Golf, will be manufactured in Martorell and will be available for around 25,000 euros. But given that this figure can still be high in many cases, the German brand has decided to go a step further with the ID.Every1 we are discussing today.
Its length is very short, around 3.88 meters, so it won't be much longer than the Volkswagen Up! but it will be shorter than the Polo, which is over four meters long. This makes it clear from the start that its vocation will be that of an urban vehicle, with an interior approved for four occupants and a trunk with a capacity of around 305 liters.
Its design is 100% Volkswagen; that is, practical and functional but without any fuss, designed to please everyone. However, elements such as the prominent bumpers and large wheels (which remain to be seen as they make it into the final production model) suggest a modern and youthful aesthetic.
Because it's such a small car and will be used mostly in the city, Volkswagen hasn't planned to equip it with either an overly powerful engine or a large-capacity battery. For this reason, the company is talking about power figures of around 95 hp, a top speed limited to 130 km/h, and a range of 250 kilometers. Whether this is enough or not will be determined by time and, especially, by the sales figures it achieves once it hits the market.
