Trump posts AI-generated video of himself and Netanyahu sunbathing in Gaza
US President continues provocations just as first phase of ceasefire ends
BarcelonaUS President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated video on social media on Tuesday explaining his vision for the future of Gaza. Two days before the end of the first phase of the ceasefire, Trump recreates with fake images his promise to turn the Strip into a tourist resort.
The macabre 30-second clip begins with scenes of destruction in the Strip, after 15 months of indiscriminate Israeli attacks, with the text "Gaza 2025." The question "What now?" appears, followed by a group of children going through a tunnel and arriving at a beach full of skyscrapers, Tesla vehicles and their master, Elon Musk, dipping bread in hummus, the popular Palestinian chickpea puree, and then throwing banknotes on people, bearded men dancing the Gantine dance in front of a golden statue of the US president.
"Donald is coming to set you free. Enough tunnels, enough fear. Gaza, Trump is finally here," the background music says. The video ends with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sipping a cocktail alongside Trump at a hotel pool.
The video was released after Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff announced plans to host a summit of property developers to discuss the future of Gaza. Trump has said he wants to displace Palestinians from the Strip and turn it into the "Riviera of the Middle East," a proposal that has alarmed Arab states and been condemned by the world as ethnic cleansing.
