The Vatican releases the first image of the Pope since he was hospitalized.
"This morning, Pope Francis celebrated Holy Mass in the chapel of the tenth-floor apartment of the Gemelli Polyclinic," the Vatican reported.
The Vatican released the first image of Pope Francis on Sunday since he was hospitalized on February 14. The photo shows him concelebrating Mass in the chapel of the apartment on the tenth floor of Rome's Gemelli Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment for a month.
The photo, which was published on the official Holy See profile, shows the pontiff celebrating Mass on Sunday. "This morning, Pope Francis celebrated Holy Mass in the chapel of the apartment on the tenth floor of the Gemelli Hospital," the Vatican reported.
Francisco remains stable
Although he is seen in profile and his face is not shown, this is the first image of Francis in the last 31 days, since he was admitted to the hospital for respiratory problems. His health problems worsened, with bilateral pneumonia from which he is recovering, although at night he still requires high-flow oxygen with nasal cannulas and mechanical ventilation with a mask.
