Taliban besiege Afghanistan's economic capital, Herat

With the first steps of the American withdrawal, the Taliban have captured the border crossings connecting Afghanistan with Iran and Turkmenistan to the northwest, and have surrounded Herat, the country's second most important city and its main economic hub.
