RetroBarcelona is preparing an epic edition to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The tenth edition of the fair returns to the Farga de L'Hospitalet on May 3 and 4 with a host of activities unprecedented in the local retro video game world.

The benchmark event for classic video games returns with an edition with more space, more activities, and special guests to celebrate its 10th anniversary. After bringing together more than 6,000 attendees in the latest edition, the fair hopes to exceed this figure. The area used at the Farga is expanding to 6,000 m², to once again fill it with gaming points, tournaments, exhibitions, conferences, and much more. In fact, the fair is consolidating its position as an unmissable event for fans of the retro world and the Peninsula. The program is tailored to the general public as well as educational centers and families, and its objective is not only entertainment, but also promotes the dissemination of the history of video games and highlights their cultural value.

Activities
This year's star guest is John Romero, designer and programmer best known for being one of the creators of Doom and QuakeHe will be present at the fair in a dedicated space where attendees can meet him and get autographs for his works. There will also be 15 talks and roundtable discussions with figures from the retro world and video game development. And live concerts from Elesky and Tiavoli Gaming, both with impressive track records and close ties to the video game industry, are returning.
Tournaments, an essential part of the RetroBarcelona experience, include titles such as Mario Kart: Double Dash, Ultra Street Fighter IV and Tetris Effect, that are played with the original hardware. Registration is free and can be managed online until capacity is reached. The fair also hosts more than 30 commercial exhibitors who gather at La Farga to create the largest retro video game market in all of Spain, where visitors can find unique pieces, merchandising, etc. Finally, the fair once again hosts a game jam Aimed at video game vocational training students, organized by the Department of Culture. The competition is part of the initiatives promoted by the Video Game Roundtable, which brings together more than forty public and private entities to promote the professionalization, visibility, and growth of the Catalan video game ecosystem and the first video game.
The RetroBarcelona fair is not the only one that has been around for years and takes advantage of the occasion to celebrate the 40th anniversary of William of Berguedà, the first video game published in Catalan. The adventure was developed in 1985 by Joan Argemí for the main computers of the time, in a project sponsored by the Computer Dissemination Center of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia). A tribute talk by Gina Tost and Albert Murillo will discuss this pioneering title in the field of Catalan software and its impact on local cultural dissemination and production. Finally, the poster for the tenth edition pays tribute to the classic PC and highlights the impact the system had on video game development during the 80s and 90s. RetroBarcelona returns with its most powerful edition in history and consolidates itself as one of the major events in the country's cultural events calendar.
