The case comes after the arrest of a Wisconsin judge for "obstructing" the detention of a migrant.
WashingtonThe mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Ras Baraka, was arrested on Friday while protesting the opening of an immigration detention center. New Jersey Federal Prosecutor Alina Habba told X that Baraka was arrested on charges of "trespassing" and "ignoring warnings from Homeland Security personnel about leaving Delaney Hall, a detention center run by the private prison company GEO Group." "Bonbadi" Trump, who previously arrested a judge for "obstructing" the detention of a migrant, said: "This will not be tolerated in this state. He has been arrested. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW."
The mayor had been protesting the opening of the center all week, claiming that its operators had not obtained the proper permits.
