New York Dolls singer David Johansen dies at 75

American singer and actor David Johansen has died aged 75, three weeks after announcing on social media that he was suffering from stage 4 brain cancer. Johansen fronted the New York Dolls, a protopunk group, during the 1970s, with whom they released just two albums.
