I met Miquel Àngel Cerdà thanks to the great wines he makes with Pere Obrador, at the Mallorcan winery (I'm sure he's had wines from this winery) Alma Negra. Before tasting their wines, the name already caught my attention. Alma Negra. At the winery they make AN and also Son Negre, which is this great wine that has, every year, a label painted by Miquel Barceló, which is more unique and beautiful every year. That day, sharing a glass, he explained to me that every year when they chase him to hand over the label he says yes, he's already done it, but he always takes it away, in a hurry, still wet with ink. I laughed when I heard this, because if you look at them, the labels of Son Negre (which the artist perhaps makes at the last minute), are beautiful: wild, terrestrial, mobile and lunatic paintings. But for me the mural in the cathedral of Mallorca is one of the works that could have made the greatest impression on me. It is a seabed with a human-shaped mold that explains, in the Barcelonan In other words, the resurrection of Christ. I have a Son Negre to open, which he gave me. The day I celebrate the party, the bottle will be a candle holder, of course. I think that the wax, falling on the label, will be to the artists' liking.

Today's wine comes from what is born as a brother of Alma Negra, Tierra de Falanis. The name of the winery, this Falanis, is a tribute to the words of the historian, the very wise and great writer Miquel Barceló i Perelló, who thus referred to his hometown, Felanitx. Saying Falanis is saying that they are looking for a simple past, with a simple way of doing things, which is, today, the greatest of complexities. And from the name –a kiss– to the labels –made by Pere Joan, a comic creator that I like a lot– they want to propose simplicity. Being simple, right? It's very complex.

The Muac! It is made from Callejón and Mantón Negro, two Mallorcan varieties, and there is the international Cabernet. The blend makes us a light red wine, like the ones we are looking for today, with lots of spices and lots of freshness. The vineyards are in the south of the island, and all the sea breeze reaches them, which refreshes them, so we are looking at a Mediterranean wine as well as being able to. In the mouth you will find, of course, all our undergrowth, these herbs like thyme, and you will also find the fruit, but candied, in the way they candied ginger, sweet and acidic at the same time, which they sell you at the fairs. It is a very well made wine, one of those that we can say are gastronomic. To say this, for me, is to say that it can play at contrasting or marrying with food. It enters the mouth onomatopoeically, like a kiss, crunchy, sweet, full of joy and transcendence.
