Kurdish writer Burhan Sönmez elected new President of Pen International

Burhan Sönmez, a Kurdish-Turkish novelist and human rights lawyer and activist, has been elected today as the new president of Pen International, at the Centenary Congress held virtually this week. Sönmez has had his works translated in to more than forty languages.
