Israel approves plan to "occupy" and maintain Gaza on a "sustained" basis

Israel's security cabinet has approved a plan to expand its operations to Gaza. According to an Israeli official quoted by the newspaper HaaretzNetanyahu has made it clear that the intention is to force "the occupation of territory and a sustained Israeli presence" in the Strip.
