France in shock: 216,000 children abused by priests

An investigation into sexual abuse in the French Catholic Church has found that an estimated 216,000 children were victims of abuse at the hands of clergy since 1950. An estimated 3,000 child abusers — two-thirds of them priests — have worked in the church over the past 70 years.
