Extra gamma of the greens, historic milestone of the Serrallo and magical triplet of the borinots
The weekend also leaves the double of 8 from Bordegassos, a new 4d8 from Jove de Barcelona and various international performances
After the great level shown by Xiquets de Valls for Sant Joan, Castellers de Vilafranca arrived in Tarragona with the challenge of demonstrating that, this season, they are also prepared to aim for everything. The greens did not fail and completed a top-level performance by unloading three extra-category constructions: the 3d9f, the first tower of 9 with folre and manilles of the course and the 4d9fa, in addition to the 8-manilled pillar.
At the same festival, Castellers de Sants confirmed their great start to the season with the first magic triplet of the year. The two basic castles of nine and the 5d8 of the borinots presented very good measurements. For their part, Xiquets de Tarragona maintained the line shown for Sant Joan, repeating the three castles they had already completed then: the 3d8, 7d8 and 4d8.
Xiquets del Serrallo are already an 8-person castle group
The great excitement of the weekend was experienced at El Serrallo. After years of pursuing it and falling short on several occasions, the Xiquets del Serrallo finally managed to download the first 4d8 in their history during the Sant Pere festival. A long-awaited milestone that confirms the best moment for the Tarragona group, which also completed the fourth 2d7 and the ninth 5d7 of the season, unprecedented records for those in the blue shirt.
In the same performance, the Castellers de Terrassa had their best performance of the season, downloading the 5d7, the first 2d7, and the 3d7ps. Finally, the Moixiganguers d'Igualada downloaded the two basic 8s and the 7d7.
The Minyons download a new 3d9f
In Sant Cugat, Minyons de Terrassa successfully passed their last plaza rehearsal before the Terrassa main festival. The purple-and-mallows completed the 3d9f, the 2d8f, the 4d8, and the pd6 in a performance that also served to continue preparing for the immediate main objective: debuting the 2d9fm next weekend at Raval de Montserrat. At the same event, Castellers de Sant Cugat were unable to complete the 3d8, which remained a charged structure. Nevertheless, they managed to recover with the 7d7 and the 4d8. For their part, Nens del Vendrell maintained the regularity of recent weeks by adding a new 4d8, accompanied by two mid-range seven-level structures.
Other events
Els Bordegassos de Vilanova have once again shown solidity by repeating the double of 8 at their neighborhood festival in Mar, while the Xicots de Vilafranca have consolidated their 4d8 and the Jove de Barcelona has added a new 4d8. In Centelles, the Capgrossos de Mataró and the Sagals d'Osona have completed 8-level castles and the Castellers de Santpedor have unloaded the first pillar of 5 of the year.
One of the big headlines has also been the international projection of the castles. The Castellers de Barcelona have made history with a 3d7 at Jungfrau, at an altitude of 3,454 meters, and have completed the 4d8 in Lausanne. La Colla Joves has brought the 4d7p, the 4d8, the 5d7 and the 7d7 to the Basque Country and the Castellers de Sarrià have brought three six-level castles to Edinburgh.
