After the great level shown by the Xiquets de Valls for Sant Joan, the Castellers de Vilafranca arrived in Tarragona with the challenge of demonstrating that, this season, they are also prepared to aim for everything. The greens did not fail and completed a top-level performance, discharging three extra-category constructions: the first tower of 9 with folre and manilles of the season, the 4d9fa, and the pillar of 8 emmanillat. They rounded off the performance by discharging a new 3d9f.

On the same day, the Castellers de Sants confirmed their great start to the season with the first magic triplet of the year. The two basic castles of nine and the 5d8 of the borinots showed very good measurements. For their part, the Xiquets de Tarragona maintained the line shown for Sant Joan, repeating the three castles they had already completed then: the 3d8, 7d8, and 4d8.

The Xiquets del Serrallo are already a level 8 team

The great excitement of the weekend was experienced at Serrallo. After years of chasing it and falling short on several occasions, the Xiquets del Serrallo finally managed to unload the first 4d8 in their history during the Sant Pere festival. A long-awaited milestone that confirms the best moment for the Tarragona group, which also completed the fourth 2d7 and the ninth 5d7 of the season, unprecedented records for those in the blue shirt.

In the same performance, the Castellers de Terrassa had their best performance of the season, unloading the 5d7, the first 2d7, and the 3d7ps. Finally, the Moixiganguers d'Igualada unloaded the two basic 8s and the 7d7.

Minyons unload a new 3d9f

In Sant Cugat, the Minyons de Terrassa successfully passed their last town square rehearsal before the Sant Cugat festival. The "malves" completed the 3d9f, the 2d8f, the 4d8, and the pd6 in a performance that also served to continue preparing for the immediate major objective: debuting the 2d9fm next weekend at Raval de Montserrat. At the same event, the Castellers de Sant Cugat were unable to complete the 3d8, which remained a "carregat" (loaded/partially completed). Despite this, they managed to recover with the 7d7 and the 4d8. For their part, the Nens del Vendrell maintained the consistency of recent weeks, adding a new 4d8, accompanied by two constructions of the mid-range of seven.

Other events

Els Bordegassos de Vilanova once again demonstrated solidity by repeating the double of 8 at their neighborhood festival in Mar, while Xicots de Vilafranca consolidated their 4d8 and Jove de Barcelona added a new 4d8. In Centelles, Capgrossos de Mataró and Sagals d'Osona completed towers of 8 and Castellers de Santpedor unloaded the first pillar of 5 of the year.

One of the big headlines has also been the international projection of the castells. Castellers de Barcelona have made history with a 3d7 at the Jungfrau, at an altitude of 3,454 meters, and have completed a 4d8 in Lausanne. Colla Joves brought the 4d7p, the 4d8, the 5d7, and the 7d7 to the Basque Country, and Castellers de Sarrià brought three towers of six to Edinburgh.
