Extra gamma of the greens, historic milestone of the Serrallo and magic triplet of the borinots
The weekend also leaves the double of 8 of the Bordegassos, a new 4d8 from Jove de Barcelona and several international performances
After the great level shown by the Xiquets de Valls for Saint John, the Castellers de Vilafranca arrived in Tarragona with the challenge of demonstrating that, this season, they are also prepared to aim for everything. The greens did not fail and completed a top-level performance by unloading three extra-category constructions: the first tower of 9 with folre and manilles of the course, the 4d9fa, and the pillar of 8 emmanillat. They rounded off the performance by unloading a new 3d9f.
On the same day, the Castellers de Sants confirmed their great start to the season with the first magical triplet of the year. The two basic castles of nine and the 5d8 of the borinots showed very good measurements. For their part, the Xiquets de Tarragona maintained the line shown for Saint John by repeating the three castles they had already completed then: the 3d8, 7d8, and 4d8.
The Xiquets del Serrallo are already a level 8 colla
The great excitement of the weekend was experienced at Serrallo. After years of pursuing it and falling short on several occasions, the Xiquets del Serrallo finally managed to complete the first 4d8 in their history during the Sant Pere festival. A long-awaited milestone that confirms the best moment for the Tarragona group, who also completed the fourth 2d7 and the ninth 5d7 of the season, unprecedented records for those with the blue shirt.
In the same performance, the Castellers de Terrassa had their best performance of the season, completing the 5d7, the first 2d7, and the 3d7ps. Finally, the Moixiganguers d'Igualada completed the two basic 8s and the 7d7.
Els Minyons complete a new 3d9f
In Sant Cugat, Minyons de Terrassa successfully completed their last square rehearsal before the major festival of Terrassa. The "malves" completed the 3d9f, the 2d8f, the 4d8, and the pd6 in a performance that also served to continue preparing for the immediate main objective: premiering the 2d9fm next weekend at Raval de Montserrat. In the same event, Castellers de Sant Cugat could not complete the 3d8, which remained a "carregat" (loaded). Nevertheless, they managed to recover with the 7d7 and the 4d8. For their part, Nens del Vendrell maintained the regularity of recent weeks, adding a new 4d8, accompanied by two constructions of the medium seven range.
Other events
Els Bordegassos de Vilanova once again showed solidity by repeating the double of 8 at their neighborhood festival in Mar, while the Xicots de Vilafranca consolidated their 4d8 and the Jove de Barcelona added a new 4d8. In Centelles, the Capgrossos de Mataró and the Sagals d'Osona completed towers of 8 and the Castellers de Santpedor unloaded the first pillar of 5 of the year.
One of the big headlines has also been the international projection of the towers. The Castellers de Barcelona have made history with a 3d7 on the Jungfrau, at an altitude of 3,454 meters, and have completed the 4d8 in Lausanne. The Colla Joves brought the 4d7p, the 4d8, the 5d7, and the 7d7 to the Basque Country and the Castellers de Sarrià brought three towers of six to Edinburgh.
