Neus Munté, Vice-president and spokesperson for the Catalan government, has stated that the Catalan executive "will not back down" over the creation of state structures, despite the Spanish government’s appeal filed with the Constitutional Court challenging the Commission for the National Transition, a body created in April that reports to the Office of the President and is led by Carles Viver Pi-Sunyer.

Munté said that the challenge is a "ridiculous" decision, because the commission is only a "structure" of a technical nature, and as such she called the challenge "partisan". "It has no legal basis or arguments", she said in a press conference at the Palau de la Generalitat (Government House). Munté confirmed that Viver Pi-Sunyer will continue in his position.
