Bassols Energia celebrates one year of its first solar park and reinforces its commitment to sustainability
The park consists of two plants and the infrastructure includes 16,300 photovoltaic panels and 30 inverters
Bassols Energia reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the energy transition with the first anniversary of its solar park, a project that represents a strategic step in the company's own renewable energy generation and its commitment to a cleaner energy model closer to the local community. With over 120 years of history in the energy sector, Bassols Energia has always maintained a clear vision: to contribute to the future by harnessing natural resources and integrating technology with respect for the environment. From its beginnings, using waterfalls to generate energy, to the implementation of renewable projects like the solar park, the company has continued to advance its commitment to clean energy and technological innovation. The solar park consists of two plants with an installed capacity of 5 MW and 4 MW, with an estimated annual production of 18,000 MWh, enough to supply approximately 5,000 homes each year. During this first year of operation, the facility has prevented the emission of 4.5 million kilograms of CO₂, and has made a tangible contribution to the fight against climate change.
The infrastructure features 16,300 photovoltaic panels and 30 high-capacity inverters, as well as a solar tracking system that maximizes panel orientation and generation efficiency. This combination of technology and sustainability makes the park a clear example of how innovation can transform energy and the region.
"This solar park is a milestone that symbolizes our approach to energy: responsible, local, and connected to the region," explains the management team at Bassols Energia. "Celebrating the first anniversary of this project reminds us that the energy transition is a challenge that only makes sense if it is carried out with rigor, respect, and commitment to people and the environment," they affirm.
The project also strengthens the connection between Bassols Energia's energy generation and marketing, consolidating a more efficient and sustainable value chain and reaffirming the company's strategy of responsibly leading the transition to a cleaner energy model that is integrated with the region. "We will continue working to ensure that the energy we consume increasingly comes from renewable and local sources, and that people benefit from greater efficiency, transparency, and sustainability," the company concludes.
