Barça takes home another prize at the party to celebrate La Liga
The Blaugranas thrash Athletic Club (6-0) and seal individual merits before traveling to Lisbon
BarcelonaWith a starting eleven packed with starters, Barça sealed the final matchday of the Liga F with a resounding 6-0 win over an Athletic Club side that couldn't even get close to the Blaugrana goal. This allowed Cata Coll to secure the competition's final individual award: the Mallorcan goalkeeper had to complete 60 minutes without conceding to earn the record that makes her the goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded. No sooner said than done. In total, Coll has conceded eleven goals (of the sixteen she has scored against Barça in the Liga F) in 22 matches.
As for the competition's other major individual award, Ewa Pajor had been aiming for the Pichichi award for some time. In the end, she scored 25 goals, two of them in the rout of the Basque team. Aitana Bonmatí opened the scoring early on, just two minutes into the match. Pina, with a brace coming off the bench, and Brugts, finishing off a superb move with Sydney Schertenleib, completed the scoring. Clara Serrajordi, 17, played the final ten minutes, making her first-team debut.
Despite coming out with their homework done, the team put in a very convincing performance in the final match before traveling to Lisbon this week for the Champions League final. After the final whistle, Pere Romeu's team received the trophy, accompanied by more than 5,500 fans who filled Johan's stadium to celebrate Barça's tenth Liga F title in history, their sixth in a row.
Alexia's lovely gesture with Kika
The celebration continued on the pitch, where Romeo and Alexia delivered the speeches. The captain made a lovely gesture for Kika Nazareth, born in Lisbon and injured since March due to ankle surgery: "I want you to know that we will come to your house and make you proud of your team."
