Sustainable tourism as a central theme

B-Travel President Martí Sarrate emphasized that the trade fair is firmly committed to sustainability because "tourism will be sustainable or it won't exist." According to Sarrate, tourism that respects the natural environment is a higher-quality tourism that also contributes to deseasonalization and allows for a more balanced use of tourism products throughout the year.

In this line, the Decalogue of the Responsible Traveler, developed in collaboration with the Biosphere certification and with the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council and the General Council of Aragon. This guide offers recommendations to raise awareness among travelers about the impact of their visits on the environment. Furthermore, the design of the show itself incorporates zero-waste initiatives, such as reducing carpeting and single-use plastics, to reinforce the sector's commitment to sustainability.

Show director Marta Serra explained that B-Travel has established itself as a leading platform for travelers, not only with the event itself, but also with its year-round digital presence: it has offered personalized routes and contributed to the deseasonalization of tourism activity.
