Antoni Bassas' analysis: "Those who helped Isla want pacts with Junts"

This morning Two conclave votes are scheduled, in Rome. Since the dean of cardinals gave Cardinal Parolin a double peace, it has been read between the lines that, this time, Parolin will contradict the saying: a cardinal will enter the conclave, and a pope will emerge. We'll see, because Pietro Parolin has campaigned, which began before Pope Francis's death, and there are cardinals who didn't like his candidacy. Parolin is more of a diplomat than a pastor; he's the current Secretary of State and he's the man who fits the idea that after a Polish pope, another German pope, and another Argentinian pope, the Vatican should put its house in order and return to an Italian pope, one who knows what's going on in the political and economic organization of the city. "inventions" (a word that refers to the Eurocentric vision of the Church). But we'll see.
Meanwhile, in Catalonia... the takeover bid. Yesterday, President Isla clearly spoke out against it for the first time. Note that President Isla has spoken out after Pedro Sánchez announced the referendum. And since we already know that President Isla is always one step behind Sánchez, we must believe that the fact that Illa says no to the takeover bid further reveals that the Spanish government will back down.
And then, how life is! The president of the Generalitat was the main guest yesterday at the Círculo de Economía conference. And the outgoing president of the entity, Jaume Guardiola, explicitly asked him to also reach an agreement with Junts.
"We think that by putting our sights on the long side, it would be good to explore more transversal pacts. That would include the majority opposition party and, therefore, bring us closer to the political center of the country. This is what we have been asking for in Spain for some time, but without much success, as is evident."
How life is. The same ones who sighed, and, in some cases, worked intensely for Salvador Illa to become president of the Generalitat, Now they are asking him to make a pact with Junts (just as they're asking Sánchez to make a pact with the PP), because they don't like the policies of Comuns and Esquerra in Catalonia and of Sumar in Spain at all. The business and economic sectors, including the most monarchist and conservative, had had enough of the pro-independence sentiment and wanted the PP to have no influence in Catalonia.
