Agnès Marquès will cover Elisenda Carod's maternity leave in 'La Tarta de Catalunya Ràdio'

The presenter is expecting her first child

BarcelonaIn September 2024 Elisenda Carod, presenter of Catalunya Ràdio's afternoon and collaborator of theIt's happening, announced that she was expecting her first child, a piece of news that she described as "the most important" of her life. The child, who will be a boy named Guillem, will be born soon, and that is why today Carod wanted to announce the person who will cover her maternity leave at the head of Catalunya Ràdio's afternoonThe chosen journalist was Agnès Marquès, with a past linked to radio – she presented the Don't know from RAC1– and who until June 2024 was the host of the TV3 magazine Ground floor.

Carod and Marquès have announced the news through a video that has been shared through Catalunya Ràdio's social networks. In the video, made with a humorous tone, Carod has given Marquès advice on how to treat the program's collaborators according to the characteristics of each one of them. In addition, he gives her a watering can decorated with his photo so that the new presenter "waters the garden well", in reference to Catalunya Ràdio's afternoon. For her part, Marquès has given Carod a bag of carquinyolis, a nod to the sweet for which the presenter acts as ambassador. Although it has already been announced who will take Carod's maternity leave, the station has not yet specified when the replacement will take effect.

Before announcing the pregnancy, Carod had revealed her desire to be a mother in an interview on The eclipseand Roger Escapa. During that conversation with his radio colleague he explained that he had been trying to have children with his partner, Xavi Fernández, scriptwriter of the show, for three to four years.
