This is what the new 'Euphoria' will be like: exclusive content and a change of coaches and jury
3Cat's music competition premieres its new season this Friday
BarcelonaAfter a strike of almost two years, the talent showEuphoria It's back on the air and this Friday it broadcasts its first gala, in which for the first time the public will choose the sixteenth contestant who will be part of the new generation of aspiring singers. "We paused the program for one season to take a breather and to refresh the material of the talent show"The contestants are the ones we're talking about. It wasn't an easy decision. However, there was a risk involved, and weighing it up, and considering the global trend in these formats, we saw that there was a certain weariness with the casting process," explained Cristian Trepat, head of content, programming, and culture at 3Cat, during the presentation of the new season on Tuesday. According to the producers, the format has been revamped. Among the innovations of this fourth season are a new section with exclusive content and a new theme song by Triquell, a finalist in the first season. There are also changes to the judging panel and the production team. coachesAs for the judges who will be evaluating the contestants, Alfred García is the only one returning from the previous season. The man from El Prat de Llobregat will be joined by musicians Mama Dousha and Queralt Lahoz. In the case of the coachesActor and director Enric Cambray joins the program as artistic director. Actress Julia Bonjoch, who has appeared in musicals such as The Little Prince and Rent, will be the coach of interpretation. Finally, Enric Sanjuan, a dancer and choreographer who has worked with artists such as Lola Índigo and Ana Mena, will be the coach dancing.
Both Sanjuan and Bonjoch say that the hardest part of their new job has been evaluating the contestants, especially during the casting phase. "It's very tough. We're constantly doing it; we're used to experiencing the casting process from the other side. We're used to being told yes or no, or that we're on the waiting list. Suddenly, being on the other side is very daunting, and you try to do it with a lot of love," the actress explains. They both agree that they will be gentle but also demanding mentors. "From a place of tenderness, you can seek out high standards and excellence in the other person. We always work with affection, respect, and considering each person's possibilities and limitations," Bonjoch emphasizes.
Euphoria Space
The main novelty this season is Espai Eufòria, a platform for exclusive digital content directed by Daniel Anglès, who has been involved with the program since its inception. "What we've done is take many of the things we experienced in the private rehearsal space, from which only occasional videos were shown during the galas. For example, very interesting conversations arose about emotional health. Now we'll have talks led by Lluís Sánchez, winner of the last edition, and featuring..." ejephorics"," Inglés explains. In these conversations conducted by the former winner ofEuphoriaThe program, which will be hosted by a psychologist, will feature couples such as former contestant Edu Esteve and content creator Cèlia Espanya, or fellow former contestant Sofia Coll and psychologist and popularizer Joan Soler.
The Espai Eufòria program, which will be broadcast from its own studio, also includes workshops open to the public and led by some of the former contestants, as well as intimate concerts by "very influential figures in the Catalan music scene" and visits from people connected to the music industry. "We want people to see as much content as possible linked to values ofEuphoria "What are creativity, youth, dialogue, and interconnection like?" says Inglés.
