The one that most resembles an ultra-rightist from Spain...

The phrase “The person who most resembles a right-wing Spaniard is a left-wing Spaniard” is attributed to Josep Pla, although the man from Palafrugell never wrote it down. In The Gray Notebook there is, however, a dialogue with his father, who tells him: “The person who most resembles a man of the left, in this country, is a man of the right”. Taking into account the context of the conversation –they are talking about the obstacles the writer's father encountered when cultivating rice in the Empordà– it is risky to introduce the concept of Spain into the middle of it. But a joint article by Crític and El Salto allows us to paraphrase this apocryphal statement to substantiate the fear that the person who most resembles a Spanish far-rightist may be an independence-seeking far-rightist.

It turns out that the digital outlet e-notícies, which amplifies the tenets of Aliança Catalana, has been yielding its traffic to EDA TV, the (let's call it) media outlet of Javier Negre, so that the latter can incorporate it into the GFK company's count and thus inflate its relevance. It is not just a matter of chest-thumping, which for those in vests two sizes too small comes as standard, but with this doping they can better justify the public aid received from the Ayuso government. And the Catalan contribution was no small thing. There was one month when EDA TV managed to certify 4.4 million unique users, 3.4 million of which were provided by e-notícies. Google burst that fictitious bubble and, two years later, the audience of the group had already dropped by 87%. Currently, the two media outlets are already presented separately. Beyond the pseudoplanian boutade, it becomes evident that the far-right, even if it may have divergent national frameworks, is capable of looking the other way to join forces and impose the core of its political agenda. Which is not the territorial model, but its common policies of exclusion and hate.
