The Javis and Carles Porta are preparing a series about Tor
The production, promoted by HBO Max, wants to combine "mystery, suspense and human drama"
BarcelonaHBO Max announced this Wednesday the development of a new original drama series, produced by filmmakers Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, in collaboration with journalist Carles Porta, which will be inspired by the history of disappearances and murders in Tor, the village in Pallars Sobirà.
Screenwriters Fran Araujo and Eduard Solà, Goya winners for One Year, One Night and Burning House, respectively, will bring this project to fiction, which will revisit the events and legends surrounding this case from the 90s, combining "mystery, suspense, and human drama," according to an HBO Max statement.
Through their label Summa Content, the series will feature executive production by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, directors of the film The Black Ball and series such as The Messiah and Paquita Salas. Calvo and Ambrossi consider that the series about the Tor mystery "could be one of the company's most iconic productions due to its ambition and scale." "We want to create something we haven't seen before: a series in which nature, landscapes, and spaces are protagonists in their own right, without ever losing the voices of the characters over several decades, within an addictive narrative," they underscore.
The Javis' proposal will be an approach from fiction to a case that Carles Porta has addressed in different television and journalistic formats from the non-fiction perspective.
