The 8 'animes' to keep in mind this autumn

BarcelonaAutumn has always been a marked point on the calendar regarding animation. Once we leave the summer heat behind, animation studios take advantage of the falling leaves to present their most anticipated productions of the year. A season marked by seinen anime, that is, those aimed at a more adult and mature audience. Although animation dubbing in Catalan seems to be starting to return little by little, we will have to resign ourselves to the Catalan subtitles available on Netflix. Apart from this platform, many of the proposals this month will be available on Crunchyroll, the main streaming service dedicated to Japanese animation.

The animation classic returns for another season with its renewed version. Netflix brings us once again the adventures of Ranma, Akane, and the rest of the peculiar characters and their curses. Like the other two seasons available on the platform, the series has subtitles in Catalan. Weekly, one episode of this iconic anime will be available to enjoy. This season mainly adapts Ryoga's training arc to master the bakusai tenketsu.

One of the anime series with the most success in recent years returns with its third season. The audience will be able to enjoy the adventures of Maomao and Jinshi once again, mixing science, magical powers, mysteries, and romance. In addition to delving into the political relations of the palace, climate anomalies and an exceptional growth in the number of insects will be the problems that both Maomao and Jinshi will have to face.

Five years after its first season, Black Clover returns and it does so by pulling out all the stops. The animation studio Pierrotwants to adapt the final arcs of the manga with all the action possible. This second season will be divided into two parts of thirteen episodes each. The first part premieres on October 3rd and will animate the Spade Kingdom Raid arc), and the second will premiere throughout 2027 and will cover the final arc.

Fans of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe will be happy because four years later they will enjoy a new production from the futuristic saga. This second part presents a completely independent story and a new handful of characters. However, Night City remains the location of the action of the anime directed by Kai Ikarashi. Weak, a washed-up Cyberpunk legend, finds himself in the obligation to seek his purpose in this cybernetic world. Meanwhile, the lethal D cries for vengeance, after discovering corporate secrets that should never have seen the light of day.

JoJo’s fans have had to endure a six-month wait to continue with the Steel Ball Run saga. Set in the Far West of the late 19th century, the Steel Ballis a horse race that crosses the entire continent. The 50 million dollar prize attracts competitors from all over the world. The protagonists are Johnny Joestar, a paralyzed jockey, and his eccentric partner, Gyro Zeppeli. Political conspiracies, fights beyond all logic, and numerous dangers will accompany the riders to the final finish line.

One of the most striking novelties of the autumn is the adaptation of Oreco Tachibana's manga. Firefly wedding tells the story of Satako Kirigata, a young aristocrat with a terminal illness. Kidnapped by a group of mercenaries, Satoko sees an opportunity to escape and avoid being murdered by Shinpei Gotou: proposing marriage to the lethal hitman. Gotou accepts the proposal and becomes obsessed with protecting the young woman. Meanwhile, Satoko begins to see beyond Shinpei's ruthless assassin figure and will live a dangerous romance with him.

The success of the previous season returns this October and opens once again the doors of this mysterious hotel. Sara and Ikuro are back to serve a rather particular clientele: assassins and criminals. The resort offers top-tier gastronomy, total relaxation and entertainment, but also weapons, false identities and cleaners of all kinds of criminal evidence. Mind you, the concierges will satisfy every need of their guests without asking questions and always with a smile from ear to ear.

A mix of comedy and horror is the season's bet by Studios Comet. 90% of humans died because of a virus, which made them resurrect as zombies that attack people. The few survivors live far from large cities, preparing to recover the urban centers. The viewer accompanies Aki and her friends, Haru and Natsuki. All three embark on a journey to find Aki's missing father.
