This month we highlight several major releases that span a wide variety of genres, platforms, and age groups. At the end of the list, however, we also detail a series of expansions, ports and sufficiently relevant early access titles that deserve mention. To round it off, February ended with a surprise release in Catalan, but March brings us two more from indie Catalan studios.

1.
Gnaughty Gnomes

1 Gnaughty Gnomes

After the success achieved with their first release, the charismatic yet frustrating Bread & Fred, the Catalan studio Sand Castles Studio tries its luck with a new genre. Gnaughty Gnomes is a competitive party game designed for friends to face off against each other in fast-paced and adrenaline-fueled battles. The fun gnomes use the stage's objects as their arsenal, and a system of upgrades after each round that can completely change the course of events.

2.
Marathon

March 5

PC, PS5, XSeries

2 Marathon 2

One of the first proposals of the year from PlayStation Studios is this reboot of Marathon, a first-person shooter game released in 1994 for Apple computers. The new release is also developed by Bungie, which over the years has created major sagas like Halo or Destiny, but now publishes the first title since the studio partnered with Sony in 2022. The new Marathon belongs to the shooter and extraction genre, with player-versus-player combat, mechanics focused on loot acquisition, and the objective of escaping alive with the reward at the end of each match. Its aesthetic, technological, and colorful style stands out.

3.
Pokémon Pokopia

3 Pokemon Pokopia

With the pocket monster saga's 30th anniversary just passed, a new and very different proposal arrives. Pokémon Pokopia is an adventure that draws from the cubic aesthetic of the well-known Minecraft and incorporates elements such as creativity and element construction. All of this, structured in a more linear way and with specific missions like the game Dragon Quest Builders 2, by the same studio that develops this new title. The story follows a Ditto – the shape-shifting Pokémon – as it explores an abandoned region and tries to discover what happened there. Oh, and of course, it's all packed with Pokémon that the player will have to discover.

4.
1348 Ex Voto

4 1348 Ex Voto

This is the debut of the new indie studio Sedleo, composed of about fifteen industry veterans. The historical narrative action game is set in the 14th century in a medieval and turbulent Italy, the cradle of political conflicts, rural exodus, banditry, religious fanaticism, and diseases. The player experiences the devastating adventure through the eyes of Aeta (Alby Baldwin), a noblewoman whose life changes radically in order to save her beloved, Bianca (Jennifer English). The title features very realistic graphics and cinematic combat based on historical European martial arts.

5.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

5 Monster Hunter Stories 3 Twisted Reflection

Capcom doesn't stop. After Resident Evil Requiem and with the new Pragmata on the horizon, they have found time to release the third installment of the spin-off of one of its most successful franchises. The Monster Hunter Stories sub-series tackles the RPG genre, focusing on narrative and with more tactical combat that moves away from the action of the main titles. Another defining characteristic is its cartoon graphics, stylized and far from realism, but very polished and with vibrant colors. The new installment narrates the conflict between two opposing kingdoms as they fight to survive an environmental disaster.

6.
Crimson Desert

March 19

PC, PS5, XSeries

6 Crimson Desert

Pearl Abyss, the Korean studio creator of Black Desert Online (2014), embarks on a new and very ambitious project. Crimson Desert is an action and adventure game in an open world of immense dimensions, which was initially planned as a multiplayer online title. The game has a medieval fantasy setting, impressive realistic graphics, and very cinematic combat. The project has generated great anticipation since its presentation, especially due to the scale of its world and its technical ambition. The player controls Kliff, a member of the Greymanes, as he navigates the continent of Pywel, full of rival factions, mythical creatures, and arcane forces.

7.
Roombattle

7 Roombattle

The debut of the Catalan indie studio Dust Games shares genre with the other Catalan release of the month (coincidences happen!). Roombattle is a competitive party game that offers wacky confrontations, this time with cleaning robots. The idea may seem far-fetched, but the team has been seen at the latest editions of the BCN Game Fest and SAGA with its live action experience that pits real robots against each other, attracting public attention. The game is available in Catalan and currently only on PC, but the team will work to bring it to Nintendo platforms, among others, as soon as possible.

Extra level! More relevant releases of the month

We highlight new content expansions and the port of Hideo Kojima's latest game to PC.

World of Warcraft: Midnight

March 2

A new expansion for Blizzard Entertainment's legendary MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game). Midnight is the second chapter of the Worldsoul Saga trilogy, which aims to revitalize the title with new energy, mechanics, and proposals.

Slay the Spire 2

March 5

If we don't highlight this game in the main list, it's because the release is only in early access and for PC. The sequel to what could be the best roguelike deck-building game seems to introduce new characters and dynamics like co-op play, but few details are known yet. When Mega Crit finalizes the definitive release on most platforms, more polished and with more content, then we'll talk about it.

Ghost of Yōtei Legends

March 10

This is a free update for one of PlayStation's big titles of 2025, focused on online co-op content for up to 4 players. Just as they did with the first title, the namesake mode of Ghost of Tsushima explored a more mystical and dark side of feudal Japan.

Death Stranding 2

March 19

The other major title of last year exclusive to Sony's console now also arrives on PC. The sequel to Death Stranding offers many technical and graphical improvements so that players with the most powerful machines can make the most of the content of Hideo Kojima's moving title.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Encounter in Belabel Park

March 26

This generous name refers to the updated edition of the latest 2D Mario and a content expansion. In addition to graphical improvements, it includes a new area called Parque Belabel, full of new activities, and many more surprises.
