Telemadrid, the most grotesque public
The public television of Madrid not only offers terribly biased content, but also makes delirious journalistic approaches. This week it showed its informational cynicism and lack of scruples after a pseudo-media outlet claimed that Pedro Sánchez suffered from a cardiovascular disease which, the same president of the Spanish government later denied. On Monday night's talk show onEl análisis. El diario de la noche, the presenter, Antonio Naranjo, better known for being a regular panelist for Susanna Griso, dedicated a whole hour of the program to delving into this failed exclusive. Faking a sensible ethic, Naranjo said they were addressing it with all caution and, of course, with respect for his health", warning that the issue had enormous political, personal, and constitutional consequences. They started with a montage of Sánchez's photographs, with zooms accompanied by horror music. Naranjo investigated with the authors of the exclusive: ¿Can the appearance of the President of the Government be related to that ailment, or is it that political and family troubles are piling up for him?” To each question he asked, he warned: Be careful, with all the delicacy with which this matter must be treated”. They interviewed a cardiologist for him to speculate on the diagnosis and induced him to reply that the best thing in those cases was to have a more restful life. A panelist assured that there were up to 29 people from the health sector attending Sánchez, including Civil Guard personnel specialized in driving an intensive care ambulance. The interview with a trusted magistrate to understand the legal implications was pure fantasy. They consulted him on how the law provided for a replacement of the president, and the expert gave all possible solutions until concluding that new elections would have to be called. Naranjo insisted: In a hypothesis where the president refused to accept his illness, does the Spanish Constitution provide for any mechanism outside the president's will? Or does everything depend on him?” The jurist had solutions for everything: The Cortes Generales would proceed to the substitution of the position”. They offered another video about Pedro Sánchez's alarming physical change”, where it was insisted that there is nothing left of that president”, emphasizing the extreme thinness”. Taking advantage of news from Eduardo Inda's media, they warned that Moncloa had increased the budget for makeup and that the responsible company had invoiced 600,000 euros since 2018, and that fifteen thousand euros had been spent in recent months to hide a haggard face”. They interviewed an aesthetics expert and a dermatologist to analyze Sánchez's skin. The topic ended with a photograph of Pedro Sánchez and a sentence: An image, that of Pedro Sánchez, that the State pays for and, therefore, all Spaniards”. This informational debris, as it turns out, is also paid for by citizens, but they have forgotten about that.
