Ricard Ustrell will produce a series about the love story of the former bishop of Solsona
The production company La Manchester has obtained the rights to the case between Silvia Caballol and Xavier Novell

BarcelonaDespite stiff competition, Ricard Ustrell's production company La Manchester has finally secured the rights to the love story between Silvia Caballol and Xavier Novell, former bishop of Solsona. The company has had no shortage of suitors: the production companies of Toni Soler, Jordi Évole and Ana Rosa Quintana had expressed interest in hosting an event.
Last Wednesday, Sílvia Caballol posted a photo on her Instagram account with Ustrell and Francesc Cano, the director of the production company, to announce it, with the message: "Let's begin the adventure...". According to her, it will be a fiction series. The National, with the intention of being distributed internationally. Negotiations with platforms will soon begin so that the series can be broadcast.
The agreements come shortly after Caballol published a survey on her social media in story format about whether she and Novell should sell the rights or not. "If you were in my shoes, what would you do?" she asked her eight thousand followers, and "Yes" won by a landslide. In the post, the psychologist revealed that she and her husband could not agree: "Xavier, although he prefers not to get involved and remain anonymous, wants to let me make the choice, respecting my final judgment." The post even seems to suggest a possible title for the series: "A Flower Among the Stones," a metaphor that Caballol has already used to define her love story.
The relationship between the former bishop and his wife has been under scrutiny since 2021, when Novell resigned from his position as Bishop of Solsona for personal reasons. That same year, it was discovered that he was having a relationship with Sílvia Caballol, a clinical psychologist, sexologist, and author of two erotic novels. At that time, Caballol had three children and was divorced. In 2021, the couple were married in a civil ceremony, and on April 2, 2024, it was made public that Caballol and Novell had been married in the Church, after Pope Francis granted the former bishop secularization. The same year, the couple had twin daughters.
In 2024, Caballol broke his silence in an interview with Ricard Ustrell on the program Collapse, to talk about the relationship's progress until they were married in the Church. The psychologist explained that Pope Francis wanted to meet Novell, but not Caballol. Even so, the writer explained that the Pope had "exhaustively followed" their story and had been "exquisite, very tolerant, very empathetic, and very merciful." On the other hand, Caballol also received a lot of criticism, such as "you'll go to hell" or "it would be better if you went to live abroad." Others asked her: "End this story and stop hurting Catholics." On the program, Caballol complained about how the media had exploited her private life and declined to give details about how she met Novell.
