BarcelonaThe Gol channel, owned by Mediapro, ended its broadcasts this Wednesday after a decade in operation. As reported by Vertele, the gapit leaveswill be filled by Replay, a new channel that aims to bring sports to a younger audience and will begin operating this Thursday.

With this change of image Mediapro seeks to create content adapted to new forms of entertainment consumption, such as social networks, vertical and short-form content or live reactions. For this reason, the Replay YouTube channel will be a key piece of the audiovisual group's new strategy. The channel's profile on the online platform has more than 300,000 subscribers and offers its followers the possibility of watching full matches or summaries in shorter formats. The use of shorts –short videos– also goes in line with the goal of reaching digital natives.

Football will continue to be the basis of the channel's programming: viewers will continue to enjoy a weekly match of the Hypermotion League (the Spanish Second Division), a match that can also be followed on YouTube. In addition, other international football competitions such as the German Cup, the women's Premier League, or the Chinese Super League will complete Replay's football catalog. Even so, boxing and contact sports will have their own dedicated space, with both historic and current live events.

The proposal for the new television channel also includes the creation of in-house programs and reports to follow national and international football current events with summaries and analyses of matches from the different competitions. The presenters and contributors of the programs are still unknown, however, everything indicates that social media personalities will be part of the Replay team.
