BarcelonaAfter signing Laura Escanes, 3Cat is once again betting on a famous face thanks to social media, Dulceida. The influencer from Badalona –whose real name is Aida Domènech– makes her debut as a presenter on public media with La gran cita, a massive dating show that will be available on the platform starting this Monday, when the first three episodes will premiere (the next three will arrive on Tuesday, April 28, and the last two on May 5). With this new entertainment format, 3Cat makes a new attempt to get closer to the young audience.

La gran cita mixes the search for love with technology. As detailed by 3Cat, the program begins with the meeting of 100 people –3,000 applied for casting– who gather "to live the biggest blind date ever seen on television in Southern Europe." All participants in the program have been analyzed by an expert team in artificial intelligence who has identified 50 "highly compatible" couples. An artificial intelligence application created specifically for the program was used to make the casting selection.

The new format consists of eight episodes that will have three phases: couple formation, relationship evolution, and the final decision. In this last stage, the couples will have to communicate if they want to continue together once the program is over. Before making this decision, they will experience many things because the program will have surprise dynamics, speed dates, sofa dates, meetings with families, unexpected secrets, a 48-hour getaway. But the most important thing will be the revelation that could change everything: discovering whether or not the person they have chosen is their ideal partner according to the AI.

In addition to the use of artificial intelligence, La gran cita also stands out for the incorporation of two intimacy coordinators, a figure increasingly common in television fiction but less frequent in entertainment. In the case of the 3Cat program, two internationally certified professionals with experience in fiction and realities have been responsible for creating specific protocols, training in boundaries and consent for the team and participants, and defining safe spaces.
