Betevé bets on the young audience and new formats for the new season
Among the novelties stand out 'Torn de guàrdia' and 'Cita prèvia'
BarcelonaBetevé, Barcelona's municipal public television, is kicking off the 2026-2027 season with new formats and an approach to younger viewers. During the presentation, which took place this Wednesday, the general director of Betevé, Georgina Ferri, highlighted the effort to "marry supply and demand" this season, which will start on September 14th, and which provides continuity to the bets initiated last year and incorporates new content, formats, and protagonists. Ferri remarked that the three axes on which Betevé works are proximity, adaptability, and emotional connection, especially with the youngest ones.
Among the notable novelties of this season are three non-fiction projects. Els artesans de Gaudí, which will premiere on Tuesday, September 22nd at 9:30 PM, is a documentary series that will explain the architect's work through the eyes of experts and artisans. The producers have used artificial intelligence to recreate images of Antoni Gaudí through old photographs, and have also collected phrases from the architect to "interpret his thought". On October 4th, Torn de guàrdia will arrive, a docuseries that accompanies agents from different units of the force to show, from the inside, the work they do every day to guarantee safety, coexistence, and care for people. Another bet of this season is Jaciment Barcelona, a proposal that accompanies the teams working on various active archaeological interventions in the city to discover how Barcelona's hidden past is reconstructed.
During the presentation, Betevé's great initiative to connect with young people was also announced. It is the vertical Adam (acronym for Digital Agora of the Metropolitan Area), which will include accessible digital formats and content such as the miniseries Episòdic, the first professional project by audiovisual students; the podcast Talents de Barcelona, focused on conversations with talented Barcelonans, and the mental health podcast Ales per a, with activist Claudia Campillo.
Betevé's schedule maintains already consolidated programs such as La porteria, which this season celebrates 20 years on air; the city history format Va passar aquí, and the cultural ones La brama and Un pla perfecte.
