A 40-meter screen, the star of TV3's new news set
The new installation, which will open in September, includes five world-first robotic cameras.

The Newscast The renovated studios are now on their way to take off, after TV3 presented this Tuesday the new set that will host the main news programs of the company. The main novelty is that the traditional chroma key, with the limitations that this entailed, is being eliminated in favor of a screen measuring forty meters long and three and a half meters high, which surrounds the different sets from the studio. Since the presenters will see what's being projected, their movements can be more organic and natural. In addition to displaying informational elements, the screen can display a landscape or a city view, providing great depth and a 270-degree panoramic view.
The 400-square-meter set also features what they call totems: three large vertical screens, each equipped with a certain amount of movement to increase dynamism, which have their own identity. These supports allow for highlighting graphics that can then be easily exported to mobile screens on digital channels.
Another new feature is the five robotic cameras: this is a new model manufactured in Canada, which is being tested and fine-tuned at TV3 before being produced for other television stations. These widgets can be controlled by a single operator and, in addition to moving around the set, can also perform vertical movements, so that, in addition to tracking shots, they can also be used for crane-type shots.
All of this will be accompanied by a change of colors: orange will gain prominence and will be the bright color that marks the new era, combined with black, white, and gray. There will be a unique font, created for the news, and the graphics will feature circular lines that will decorate the backgrounds.
Beyond the change of aesthetics after maintaining the same graphic line and set since 2014, the remodeling is intended to be more than just a facelift or image renewal. The management of the Catalan Corporation of Audiovisual Media is promoting the grouping of all news content—be it television, radio, or digital—under a single brand: 3CatInfo. This means the disappearance of brands such as Catalunya Informació and 324. Consequently, the program More 3/24 will be called More Night (and will continue to be presented by Marina Romero).
In fact, a month ago the group of presenters who will have these shows was also presented NewscastThe midday show will be hosted Monday through Friday by Xavi Coral and Anna Garnatxe, while Saturday and Sunday will be hosted by Joan Raventós and Júlia López. Newscast of the regions will continue to be hosted by Núria Solé. And Ariadna Oltra will continue to present the morning show, which will lose the article and from the fall will be called Mornings.
All of this will be complemented by a new mobile app, a revamped website, dedicated channels on WhatsApp and Telegram, a weekly newsletter, and a daily podcast.
The new stage will be characterized by a greater differentiation of the three editions of the TN. He Regions internally receives the motto "Connect Me" because it focuses on providing practical information and "presenting experiences that inspire." Noon It is governed by the word "Get informed", because it will bring you up to date with current events, while the Evening opts for "Explain to Me," in the sense of providing more context. The goal is for viewers watching the evening edition to find a very distinct newscast, one that won't remind them of the midday newscast, if they've also seen it.
More integration
"We started from an unbeatable situation," explained Rosa Romà, president of the Corporation "We are leaders and a reference in information in Catalonia, but with these changes we hope to continue growing in influence and the new sets are one more piece of this flagship that is the news of the house. The planned technological investment is 1.9 million euros and the process of renovation will have lasted two years, if we count from the moment in which a participatory process was launched within the different areas of the house.
