Volcanic eruption

A volcano that had been dormant for 600 years has awakened in the Russian region that suffered the 8.8 magnitude earthquake last Wednesday.

The Krasheninnikov volcano in the Kamchatka region has erupted for the first time since 1493, and scientists believe it is related to the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the Russian peninsula last Wednesday. The eruption generated an ash column that rose 6,000 meters.
