The death toll in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo due to the Ebola outbreak has now risen to 864, according to the government. In addition, there are 2,181 confirmed cases. The epidemic was declared on May 15, and the affected provinces are Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut-Uele, and Tshopo.
