The double earthquake —of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5— that struck Venezuela last June 24 has already caused the death of 4,561 people. In addition, almost 18,000 Venezuelans have been left homeless. In this way, the earthquake ranks as the most serious in the country's recent history.
