From Lourdes, the Pope asks for "penance" before "a world that is going wrong"

Pope Leo XIV has celebrated a mass for 150,000 people at the sanctuary of Lourdes, a sacred place of Christian pilgrimage. In the mass, the pontiff has called for "penance" in the face of "a world that is going wrong" and "where increasingly widespread conflicts" destroy so many innocent lives.
