Transgourmet Ibérica celebrates its centenary and leadership in food distribution with a massive event in Tarragona.
The company has a well-established presence in the regions of Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre with its logistics platform in Tortosa.

TarragonaOn Sunday, June 15, Transgourmet Ibérica brought together more than 500 people at the iconic Tarraco Arena in Tarragona to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The event brought together representatives of institutions and business organizations, industry figures, clients, suppliers, and employees from the regions of Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre, southern Barcelona, Lleida, and the Valencian Community to celebrate this historic milestone, highlighting the company's current leadership position in wholesale food distribution.
The general manager of Transgourmet Ibérica, Lluís Labairu, opened the event by thanking all the people who, over the years, have made it possible for Transgourmet Ibérica to celebrate its 100th anniversary, with a special mention to its employees, clients, and suppliers.
Montserrat Adan, First Deputy Mayor of Tarragona City Council, also spoke, emphasizing that "it is a source of pride that a company with a 100-year history is investing in the city. In the town of Campredó, Tortosa, is one of the company's five logistics platforms in Spain, guaranteeing supply to the Lleida Pyrenees, Aragon, the Tarragona countryside and the Ebro region, the Valencian Community, Albacete, the Region of Murcia, and the islands of Ibiza and Formentera. Opened in 2001, it covers 25,000 m² and handles 14 million boxes annually, with a workforce of more than 100 employees.

Transgourmet's strategic presence in Tarragona
Transgourmet has chosen Tarragona to host one of its main centenary celebrations due to its significant presence in the regions of Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre.
In addition to its logistics platform, it is a leader in distribution to the hospitality industry with four Gros Mercat centers: Amposta, El Vendrell, Reus, and Tarragona. In total, the company employs more than 200 people in these regions. The centers have a Food Service division, an exclusive service that guarantees direct delivery to businesses, providing tailored solutions.
Transgourmet Ibérica has also promoted the expansion of its franchised supermarkets and currently has 25 establishments under the Suma and Proxim brands. The company will continue to focus on the growth of its franchises in these regions, where the Suma brand is positioned as a leader in local and convenient commerce.
