BarcelonaThe current president of Cecot, the Vallesana employers' association, Xavier Panés, has decided to run for re-election in the elections that this organization will hold on June 3. Its board of directors has agreed in this Wednesday's meeting to initiate the electoral process for the presidency of the entity, which will culminate with the holding of the general electoral assembly on June 3, 2026.

That month marks the end of the four-year statutory term that began in 2022. During the same session, Panés expressed his intention to run again. He linked this decision to the results obtained during the last almost four years of his presidency, "to the work developed jointly with the professional team, the guilds and the associative base, and to the need to provide continuity and consolidate the organizational, strategic, and institutional positioning changes promoted both internally and externally within the organization".

The closing of the current term "coincides with a period of high activity and projection for Cecot, with indicators of maximum operational performance, strengthened institutional representativeness, and the deployment of strategic projects aimed at increasing the entity's utility for member companies and the business community as a whole," explained this organization.

These elections will take place one month after those called by Foment del Treball, scheduled for May 18, and in which the current president, Josep Sánchez Llibre, will once again run. This is the third time he is running for the position, which is possible after the change in statutes that eliminated the term limit, which until then was two consecutive terms.
