The Tax Agency places a high-ranking official from the Ministry of Finance at the forefront
The socialist executive denies any internal crisis after the departure of Soledad Fernández
MadridThe Spanish government has formalized the change in the leadership of the Tax Agency this Tuesday. Antonio Ansón Latorre (Zaragoza, 1962) will assume the general directorate of the tax administration, who for a little over a year has been the director of the cabinet of the Secretary of State for Finance, the highest authority responsible for directing and coordinating fiscal policy, the management of the tax system, and regional financing.
As confirmed by ARA, Ansón will take over from Soledad Fernández Doctor, who requested her departure months ago after four years in office. The ministry announced last week that there would be changes in the leadership of the Tax Agency, although it denied any internal crisis: in addition to Fernández Doctor, two other senior officials will also leave.
Latorre joined the Tax Agency as a technician in 1988. He then became an inspector and held various coordination and management positions. In 2014, he began working at the Washington offices of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where he stayed for eight years. Upon returning to Spain, he once again occupied positions of responsibility, such as deputy director of human resources within the Tax Agency.
