The Spanish government will allocate €216M to the maintenance of the AP-7, AP-2 and B-23

It accounts for 21.5% of the budget allocated to tenders for the entire State

MadridThe Spanish government has authorized to tender for 216.32 million euros the conservation and maintenance of part of the state roads in Catalonia, but also the repair of several deteriorated fences. The allocation for the Principality represents 21.5% of the total millions tendered for the State as a whole (1,006 million euros) and which were approved this Tuesday by the Council of Ministers.

The State road network that crosses Catalonia extends for more than 560 kilometers. In the case of the tenders approved this Tuesday, they will affect a large part of the route of the AP-7 and AP-2, as well as the B-30. The duration of the tender, including extensions, is 5 years with the possibility of an additional extension of a maximum of 9 months, as explained by the Ministry of Transport in a statement.

All demarcations are affected by the approved tenders (the contracting files have been divided into 29 lots). In the case of Barcelona, the impact is on the AP-7 and the B-30. In the first case, it will affect kilometers of road that pass through Vallès and part of Selva, as well as Penedès. And in the case of the B-30, the section between Barcelona and Sant Vicenç dels Horts.

Regarding the Girona regions, the tender aims to conserve a little more than 92 kilometers of the AP-7 and different interchanges of this highway, such as La Jonquera, Figueres, and Girona, among others. In relation to Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre, the conservation of the AP-7 between kilometers 207 and 258, and the AP-2 between kilometers 181 and 232 is being tendered; as well as different interchanges and service roads. The contract will also be used for the replacement of deteriorated closing fences at various points of the AP-2 highway in the Cabra del Camp-Banyeres del Penedès section. In Lleida, the tenders correspond to the AP-2 between kilometers 120 and 181, as well as different interchanges and service roads. The contract also includes the replacement of deteriorated closing fences at various points of the AP-2 highway, within the Lleida-Soses section from kilometer 126 to 139.
