Revolut will open 'vip' lounges at major European airports
The neobank wants to deploy the largest network of premium spaces in the world, starting with Copenhagen

The British neobank announced this Thursday the initiative – christened Revolut Lounge – which aims to leverage the group's brand "beyond financial products".
"This investment reflects Revolut's ambition [...] to create premium experiences tailored to the needs of its global customer base," the company said in a statement. "We want to set a new standard for lounge experience "vips of European airports and offer Revolut customers more differentiated advantages when they travel," added the director of new strategies, Hadi Nasrallah.
The company has chosen Copenhagen Airport (Denmark) as the first location, a project that, in the platform's view, will establish the design model that Revolut will transfer to other international airports from 2027. However, it should be remembered that El Prat is the seventh airport in Europe with the most international passenger traffic, and that it precisely surpasses that of Copenhagen.
Opening at Portal de l'Àngel
This Thursday's announcement comes just days after Revolut confirmed the opening of its first physical office in Barcelona, specifically at number 19 Portal de l'Àngel, in an attempt by the entity to make the brand more tangible to the public and facilitate product presentations to customers.
According to the group, the concept behind the vips at airports will be the same. "Revolut Lounge will bring this focus to the travel sector," which is precisely one of the main use cases for its cards.
Coinciding with the launch of the new project, the neobank also obtained this week the full banking license in France. With this milestone, Revolut adds "an extra layer of security and protection" to its business model and achieves a new way to group – through France – all the Western European markets where it operates, including Spain. Until now, the entity's Spanish branch was linked to the subsidiary that Revolut had in Lithuania, which was what allowed the British bank to operate within the European Economic Area (EEA).
