Guifré Homedes, new representative of COAPI at the Barcelona Chamber

BarcelonaThe College of Real Estate Agents (COAPI) of Barcelona has appointed Guifré Homedes as the new representative to the plenary session of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona. Homedes, second vice-president of the institution and general director of Amat Immobiliaris, will replace the previous member, Vicenç Hernández Reche, who was removed in the last plenary session, held on July 16. The appointment was formalized last Monday, August 3, with the completion of the necessary procedures before the Chamber. He will therefore be able to participate in the first meeting of the governing body after the summer, scheduled for September 30.

Homedes arrives at the Chamber with a long career in the real estate sector, and will seek to "strengthen the College's presence in one of the country's main business representation bodies." According to the president of COAPI, Montserrat Junyent, "the entity's active participation in the Chamber is fundamental to contributing the vision of real estate professionals to the economic and business debates" that mark current Catalan economic affairs.

The new member, for his part, highlights the "willingness to serve" that brings him to the plenary session; which he considers "a space for dialogue and the construction of proposals for the country's economic fabric". Homedes is part of the third generation of Amat Immobiliaris, a family business founded in 1948 by Joan Amat. He joined in 2010, and in 2018 he took over as general director.

Chamber Bodies

Beyond the vocal position, Hernández was also part of the executive committee led by the President of the Chamber, Josep Santacreu. Unlike the chamber seat, which corresponds to COAPI, the composition of the executive body is in the hands of the public law corporation.

From the College, it must be said, they consider that "it is positive that the real estate sector can have the maximum possible representation in the Chamber's governing bodies", especially at a time of residential crisis like the current one. The institution values, in this regard, that "the voice of the sector's professionals is present in the spaces" for business and economic debate in Catalonia.
