CaixaBank wins 3,203 million in the first semester, 8.5% more
The bank reaches 20.9 million clients and 6.4 million direct debited payslips
CaixaBank closes the first half of the year with a net profit of 3,203 million euros, 8.5% more than in the same period last year, as reported in a statement sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) this Wednesday.
The banking entity explained that the improvement in results is due to the "strong dynamism of commercial activity" and that, between January and June, it has maintained an intense pace of business growth, customer acquisition and payrolls, and a sustained improvement in market share.
The bank's CEO, Gonzalo Gortázar, highlighted the growth in commercial activity and that the group achieved a profitability of 18%. CaixaBank has reached 20.9 million customers in Spain and Portugal, 1.1 million more than a year ago, and in June it had 6.4 million direct debited payrolls, 210,000 more.
