MadridAmparo Moraleda will be the first Spanish president in the history of the Aribus board of directors, as reported by El País and confirmed by the aeronautics giant to ARA. With her appointment (to be ratified in October), it will be the first time that the European consortium's board of directors will not be chaired by a French or German executive.

Moraleda has been part of the Airbus board of directors since 2015 and will take over from René Obermann, who has announced his decision not to stand for re-election. He will step down as chairman on October 1. The Spanish executive has stated that her commitment to the company and its shareholders "is total". "I will work in collaboration with my colleagues on the board and the management team to ensure that Airbus is well prepared to face the numerous challenges and opportunities arising from the changes in our global environment," she declared.
