250 euros per month for two years: how to apply for the Bo Lloguer Jove and what requirements must be met

This Monday, March 9th, the application period opens for the state-run Youth Rental Grant (Bo Alquiler Joven), a subsidy of up to €250 per month for two years designed to facilitate access to housing for people up to 35 years old. Applications can be submitted from 9:00 AM this Monday, March 9th, until 2:00 PM on Friday, March 13th, and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocated budget is exhausted. The Catalan government (Generalitat) is allocating more than €29 million to the program, as announced in February by the Minister of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition, Silvia Paneque, who urged young people to register as soon as possible with the Catalan Housing Agency (Agència de l'Hôtel de Catalunya). The application can be submitted in different ways:

• Electronically through the Generalitat's Procedures Portal
• In the social rental mediation network's exchanges
• In the local housing offices that collaborate with the Housing Agency of Catalonia
• At the offices of the Housing Agency and territorial services

The fastest way is electronically, since the aid is granted in order of presentation.

Requirements to access the aid

To be eligible for the Bo Alquiler Joven (Youth Rental Bonus), you must meet several conditions:

• Be up to 35 years old (inclusive)
• Legal residence in Catalonia and that the dwelling or room is the habitual residence
• Have a regular income
• That the annual income of the cohabitation unit does not exceed 25,200 euros, if they correspond to the fiscal year 2025
• Be the holder of the rental contract or be able to sign it within a maximum of two months
• That no member of the cohabitation unit owns a home or is related to the owner of the apartment

What rental price allows access

The aid can only be requested if the rent does not exceed certain limits, which vary depending on the territory.

• Room: up to 450 euros
