Writer, screenwriter and journalist Anna Fité dies at age 67

The author from Sabadell, specializing in children's and young adult literature, also wrote family theater.

BarcelonaAnna Fité (Sabadell, November 27, 1958), a writer specializing in children's and young adult literature, screenwriter, and journalist, has died at the age of 67, according to ACN. With a long career in the world of narrative and media, she was also an author of family plays and a cultural promoter. Anna Fité wrote for children's television programs such as Sesame Street and The Lunnis (TVE), children's and young adult stories and novels (Chala, va!, Voila!, Mint soup with bells, The wonderful forest, The Conceited Skunk, The fisherman…), family shows (Zoomwatts!, Delta Star, Soup!, Where is the Rovelló?…) and children's and youth cantatas.

The author never stopped writing and experimenting in diverse formats: stories, novels, children's TV programs, musical shows, song lyrics, theatrical texts, adaptation of works into sign language, documentaries and series for TV3 (Nice of power, Ventdelplan, Scent of cologne, The heart of the city…), as well as adventure reports and animation scripts. Fité was also a cultural journalist for 10 years at the Sabadell DailyAs the same publication recalled, she was in charge of the gastronomy and organizations sections, and primarily wrote about the performing arts.

The mayor of Sabadell, Marta Farrés, expressed her shock at Fité's death and emphasized that she was an essential figure in Catalan culture, a Sabadell-born activist, creator, and screenwriter deeply connected to the city's cultural and associative fabric. "She leaves behind a committed career and a legacy," she said.

Among her latest books are Humans in my garden (La Galera, 2022), The Little Monkey's Gift (The strain and the loop, 2023) and The most animalistic concert (La Galera, 2023).
