Robert De Niro, one of the greatest American actors of the last 50 years, will receive the Honorary Palme d'Or at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. The actor will receive the award on May 13 during the festival's opening ceremony. De Niro previously chaired the festival's jury in 2011.
